Dale Angell

LEAD SINGER 
Dale is a veteran of the south side music scene. He has been rocking in bands for over 40 years. He plays the drums, guitar, bass, or sings. In his free time he writes and records in his home studio. Thrives in the live music scene and performing. Played with Split Decision, Cheap Cindy, Beg to Differ, Living Proof, and more.

DAN SHEA

Drummer
Born November 3, 1967
Dan grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. He started playing music in his grammar school band and continued playing in all kinds of school bands throughout high school. He created his first band in the 80s called Metal Monstrocity with Mark Hofstetter (Anthem and 4CAST). After that he was in miscellaneous bands throughout the late 80s. In 2015 he started playing again with a few of his friends and then created Group Therapy. Ever since then he has evolved the band to what is it today. His favorite song to play with the band is Gimme Three Steps by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Jeff Hansel

Jeff Hansel 

Bass
Born December 16, 1968
Jeff has performed in the Chicagoland area and on the road throughout the Midwest for over 35 years in small and large venues. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in music with emphasis in jazz bass studies. Jeff has studied bass with multiple prominent jazz and classical educators. He’s a music educator in bass, piano, and guitar. He has performed jazz, classical, blues, rock, country, big band, pop, dixieland, broadway, and many ethnic genres. He has toured from Nashville to Off-Broadway in New York. He can be seen on TV and in movies. He wrote the soundtrack for “Great American Country” which climbed the Country Billboard Independent Records Chart. He has performed for Miss America. Jeff and his family live in the Chicago suburban area. All the songs he performs with Group Therapy are his favorites. Rock and Roll!

PAUL BOURGEOIS

Guitar
Born March 18, 1976
Originating from a musical and artistic family, Paul grew up in Richton Park and started playing violin at a young age until switching to guitar at 13yrs old.  Centered around enjoys all rock and blues genres Paul is enthusiastic about all kinds of music. Mustang Sally, All Along the Watchtower are frequent favorites among others on our setlist.  Member of Group Therapy since 2021. When not playing with Group Therapy Paul enjoys outdoor activities and enjoys spending time with his family.

Tom Sweeney

TOM SWEENEY

Guitar 
Born December 10, 1964
Tom started to play guitar when he was seven years old. The first song he ever learned was War Pigs by Black Sabbath. He was in a punk rock band in the 80s called The Undertakers. His favorite guitarists are Tony Tommi, Alex Lifeson, Gary Richrath, and so many more. His favorite song to play in the band is Rock and Roll Hochie Koo by Rick Derringer. A song he would like to play is Here Again by Rush.
